Tales is intended for users 13 years of age or older.

By using Tales, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

2. Accounts

To use Tales, you must create an account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Not share your password with others
• Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. User Content

Tales allows users to:

• Post book reviews
• Rate books
• Follow other users
• Maintain public or private profiles
• Report inappropriate content

Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create (reviews, ratings, profile text).

License to Tales

By posting content on Tales, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Display
• Store
• Reproduce
• Distribute
• Modify formatting for technical purposes

This license exists solely to operate and improve the service.

Public Visibility

Reviews and ratings are public by default.

Profiles may be set to private and visible only to approved connections.

Even public content may not be actively surfaced unless another user searches for it.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post unlawful, abusive, threatening, or defamatory content
• Harass other users
• Attempt to access other accounts without permission
• Interfere with the app’s operation
• Use the app for commercial spam or scraping

5. Moderation

Tales includes:

• A reporting system
• Administrative review
• Content removal ability

We reserve the right to:

• Remove content
• Suspend or terminate accounts
• Investigate reported violations

We may act at our sole discretion to maintain a safe and respectful community.

6. Book Data & Third-Party Content

Tales uses book metadata provided by:

• Open Library
• Google Books

Book metadata and cover images are subject to the terms of those providers.

Tales does not claim ownership of third-party book data.

7. Intellectual Property

The Tales app, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by Owen Stokes-Cawley and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app without permission.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Tales is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We make no guarantees that:

• The app will be error-free
• Content will be accurate or complete
• The service will be uninterrupted

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tales and its owner shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are significant, we may require re-acceptance within the app.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which the owner resides.
